FAQ: Bills & Payments

- What are joint bills?

A joint bill is type of bill for which multiple people are partially responsible for a cost incurred as a group. For example, it may be a gas bill for the flat you rent with friends, a hotel that was booked for multiple people, or just a round of drinks in the pub.

Joint bills let you record who was involved, and for what share they are responsible. In many cases this is just a simple equal split, which WhoseBill calculates for you, but you can also choose an exact amount that each person owes, or split it by percentage. joint bills can be paid by any of the people involved, and you can enter multiple Payments if needed, for example, if there were 10 of you for dinner, and 2 of you paid.
